FRANKLIN HS (BS) -- It's
was a thing of close games this week.
This being the 3rd basketball game this
week that I've covered to where the teams
either came from behind to win or make it
close.
Franklin Panthers proving
this true again tonight when they hosted
the Aztecs from Mark Kappel High. Closing
out the week, getting us ready for the
weekend then some Christmas Eve Monday
Night Football (5pm start) where the SD
Chargers host the Denver Broncos followed
by Christmas Day.

The
Panthers down by 9 points 39-48
going into the 4th quater came
back to pull out the victory
61-57. Game high scores for the
Panthers were # 25 Brandon Ross
12 points, 9 rebounds, #24 Willie
Hernandez 12 points, 4 rebounds.
BS Player of the game #4 Tom
Pasco added 10 points, 5 assist
and 2 rebounds. The Aztecs
jumping out to a quick 4 point
lead on a 3 pointer and a free
throw. The Panthers came back to
tie it at 4 on a nice bank shot
from #25 Brandon Ross.
The Aztecs winning the 1st
quarter by the score of 20-15,
got 7 points from #23 and 5
points from #21. The Panthers got
6 points a piece from #24 Willie
Hernandez and #25 Brandon Ross in
that quarter.

to call a time out at 4:06 mark
after the Panters opened the
second quarter with a 12 to 4 run
on some pressure defense from #4
Tom Pasco and #2 Adolph Gudino
causing numerous turnovers by the
Axtecs. Panters offensive was
lead by # 5 Osmin Villatoro, 6
points and #4 Tom Pasco with 4
points giving the Panther a 4
point halftime lead 33-29. The
Aztecs trailing at the half got
some outstanding play from #23,
10 points and #34 with 9 points.
The Aztecs also tossed in four
first half 3 pointers. The 3rd
quarter was the opposite with the
Aztecs going on a 7-2 run for the
lead 36-35 until Panther #3
Estevan Delgado put the Panthers
back in front with a nice under
the basket bank shot 37-36.

The Aztecs allowed
the Panthers only one more basket
while #1 of the Aztecs was
bombing from behind the three
point line taking the lead into
the fouth 39-48. Panthers #25
Brandon Ross and #3 Estevan
Delgado applied some awesome
defense to open up the fourt on a
4-0 run to trim the lead to 5,
43-48,

Panther
coach Robin Cordona called a
perfectly timed time out during
that run. The Panthers kept
chipping away at the lead utill
they tied it up at 55 with 2:40
remaining in the game.
After #24 Willie
Hernandez gave the Panthers the
lead 58-55 on a BIG 3 point shot
the Panthers never looked back
sealing the victory 61-57.
Concluding another game finshing
in grand fashion...Whether win or
loose. How sweet it is to get
that first victory though...
