With 3 games left on the
reagular HS Girls Volleyball schedule
after this game. It could easily happen
(especially playing at home) to a team
that's 8-0 (Lady Mules) when playing a
4-4 (Lady Tigers) team. Over looking
their opponent or getting alittle over
confident.
As did the Lady Mules in
the first match, who were hosting the
Lady Tigers in what is considered a
meaningless game as far as the playoff
run is concerned. With the Lady Mules in
and I believe the Lady Tigers out.
Coaches are like parents.
Usually never wrong, right? As was true
with mine.
Speaking to Coach Lopez
of WHS just before the game on how he
thought his UNDEFEATED LADY MULES team
looked and felt. Quoteing, " He was
alittle concerned. They can loose this
game if the lady's don't come to
play".

I
thought...To me, they looked the
usuall. His ladies seemed relaxed
and having fun, READY TO ROLL. So
much for what I know... His
lady's get blown out in the first
match (17-25). Lead by some
strong play from The Lady Tigers
#12 (pictured LF) with some nice
digs, blocks and kills. I don't
remember seeing this young lady
as active in the first game these
two teams played.
She really came to play
becuase it showed thoughout the
game. It wasn't just that first
match. She played very well
throuhout the game. To me, she
had one of the best games any
single player had vs The
UNDEFEATEDS..
Alot of what The Lady Mules
dished out, she covered. Other
noticeable Lady Tigers were #9,
6, 8 and 2.

As for the Lady
Mules, Whew.. Was Coach Lopez
flammin'. For some reason he had
that feeling...Understanding the
feeling. With his team at 8-0,
playing with a big Oh target
printed across their chest
because of their record. Teams
coming with their all, some with
nothing to lose, so trying it
all. All to no prevail.
With Coach Lopez
realizing the unpredictable
happening, the first game just
slipped away, he calls out to # 9
Cassandra Martinez (pictured RT)
and gives her some field lecture.

Michelle Venegas,
(pictured RT) but to me,
(and if anyone knows this
team almost as much as
their coaches, it's me)
this team is held
together by # 9
Cassandra. Michelle, to
me is the skipper, she
opperates the ship that
floats atop of the NE
section standings at a
PERFECT 9-0. (Because
they won today vs FHS
3-0).
But with out
Cassandra, I honestly
don't know if they'de be
UNDEFEATED because there
has been some close
matches.
Shes the glue that
gets this team back
together when their games
get tough. Awesome
leader. So with that, the
Lady Mules get it
together in time for
another victory.
